Every side accuses the other of fake news.
Conspiracies spread faster than corrections.
And people choose what to believe based on what they feel — not what’s true.It’s not just that we’re being lied to.

• Patients waiting hours in pain, or treated in corridors. In 2023, more than 1 in 10 emergency patients in England waited over 12 hours.

• Veterans sleeping rough — nearly 1 in 10 rough sleepers in England are former service personnel.

• 4.3 million children in the UK are growing up in poverty — but debates online argue whether the problem is even real.

• Schools are overwhelmed. Over half of parents of children with SEND say they’ve had to fight for basic support.

• Use of food banks has more than doubled since 2017, yet millions are told poverty is a personal failure.

• A country more divided, more uncertain, and more angry — because the truth keeps getting buried.

Britain isn’t broken because of one party, one government, or one moment.It’s broken because we stopped demanding honesty — and they got away with it.

We don’t care who you vote for.

Because a free press shouldn’t mean a billionaire press.We demand:
- Limits on media ownership concentration — no more monopolies
- Stronger public funding for independent, local, and investigative journalism
- Transparent labeling of AI-generated content and sponsored narratives
- A regulator with real teeth to enforce truth, fairness, and accountability in news---🟥 2. Political Reform
Because politicians should fear lying more than losing.We demand:
- Independent truth oversight for public office
- New powers to investigate and expose dishonest claims in campaigns or Parliament
- Truth-in-advertising rules applied to political communication

Because the next generation deserves better tools.We demand:

We believe in free speech — even when we disagree.But free speech only works when we all have the same basic facts.This campaign isn’t about stopping opinions.
It’s about calling out lies, especially when they come from people in power.---Everyone has the right to an opinion.You can believe:

- That climate change needs urgent actionBut no one should be misled by claims like:
- “Cutting taxes always increases government income”
- “There’s no evidence climate change is real”Those aren’t opinions — they’re false facts.
And they can shape elections, policies, and public trust.---Truth isn’t the enemy of free speech. It’s the foundation.Free speech includes:
- Debate

- Satire and criticismBut it also means protecting the public from lies being passed off as truth — especially during elections or major events.We don’t all have to agree. But we do have to start with what’s real.

Fair and Independent Oversight

We don’t want the government or any political party controlling what’s true.We want a fair, honest way to challenge public lies — especially when they come from people in power.This campaign supports the idea of an independent group to help protect the truth in public life.
It wouldn’t judge opinions — only clear, false claims that mislead people.---How to Keep It FairWe believe any group checking public claims must:- Include a mix of people
Judges, researchers, charities, and people from different political views — not just the government.- Be open and transparent
The rules for choosing who’s involved should be clear and public.- Only focus on facts
It should look at what’s said in public, like government statements or campaign promises — not personal views.- Check how information is shared
It should look at how facts are checked, not just the final result.- Allow people to appeal
Anyone affected should be able to question a decision.- Be reviewed regularly
